PROP-FIRM CHECK Limits measured from starting balance

Prop firms fund traders who pass a challenge without breaking two limits: a daily loss limit and a maximum loss. One bad day with too much risk ends the challenge. Pick a typical rule set or enter your firm's exact numbers – this check shows how many losses in a row your risk per trade allows.

Losses in a row to daily limit– Losses in a row to max loss– Suggested max risk per trade–
–

Limits here are fixed from the starting balance. Many firms use a trailing drawdown instead – then your real buffer is smaller. Always check your firm's current rules.

HOW TO USE
Check Pair Ranking for your bias, find your entry and stop-loss level on your own chart, then enter the stop distance in pips here. For cross pairs (e.g. GBP/JPY, EUR/AUD), the reference rate is a second currency pair needed to convert pip value into USD — not the price of the pair itself. The default is the daily ECB reference rate – for an exact result, enter your broker's current price.
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What is a prop firm challenge?

A proprietary trading firm lets you trade its capital after you pass an evaluation. You must reach a profit target without breaking a daily loss limit or a maximum loss limit. Typical rules are around 5% daily and 10% maximum loss, but every firm differs.

How much should I risk per trade in a prop challenge?

Enough that a normal losing streak cannot break a limit. With a 45% win rate, streaks of 8–12 losses happen regularly over 100 trades. The prop-firm check above suggests the highest risk per trade at which no more than 10 of 100 simulated runs fail.

What does the losing-streak simulator show?

It plays 100 random sequences of trades with your win rate, reward-to-risk and risk per trade. You see the typical result, the worst losing streak to expect, the deepest dip and how often a limit is hit. It is a simulation of chance, not a forecast of your trading.

Where do the exchange rates come from?

Defaults use the daily euro reference rates of the European Central Bank. They are not live prices – for an exact pip value, enter your broker's current price.
